The big Man Waking, performed by Vision Mechanics, is a 8m high puppet who walks the streets of Scotland with puppeteers pulling ropes to animate him. Renamed New Man Walking for Edinburgh Hogmanay, the extra character of the Watcher, was added to the popular story. The watcher was passed down the story of the Big Man return from generations to generations, to be ready to welcome him.
