Loved helping create this participatory tree costume character for a small number of audience members for Imaginate children festival. Textures made from manipulated and dyed fabric scraps mixed with natural fibre organza as tree mushroom growth at the sleeves head and Botanics foraged plants held in pre-stitched felt pocket easily replacable. Leggings printed on 78% recycled nylon from Funkifabric. Hat made from stitched platted cotton jersey from an old project. The fake moss is the only non eco thing in the costume as couldn’t find a replacement. A good 95% eco friendly costume I’d say.
Illustration writing: “If trees had faces, would we see them differently? Would we recognize ourselves in them and treat them as equal?”
