I have been awarded a professional development award by Scottish Art Council -aka Creative Scotland- towards the cost of travel and accomodation to attend the World of Wearable Arts Awards in New Zealand.
Although I haven’t gone through to the Awards show, I made it through the first selection and got asked to send my costume to New Zealand to be judged.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see costumes by international designers and last year winners, get feedback from the judges’ forum and comprehend the designs selection process of the show. Networking will play a big part in this project. I will be learning and get inspired from the various places I will be visiting such as the renowned WETA workshop and the world of wearable Art museum, that will encourage future productions in Scotland and internationally.
